True Blood Halloween Ideas
Whether it is Halloween or just a True Blood theme party there are lots of ways to make your True Blood party one to remember forever. Or maybe you just want to dress like one of the cast characters.. that is fine too.. a cheesy vampire costume won’t work but lucky for us dressing like Eric, Sookie, Lafayette or any of the others, is pretty easy!
Some of the easiest ways to get started on your party are to decorate your home like one of the 3 main “sets” on True Blood – Merlotte’s Bar (were Sookie works as a waitress), Fangtasia (the swanky vampire bar), or Lou Pine’s (the rough and tumble werewolf biker bar). Make a bar area if you don’t have one and pull up some barstools. Some pub tables would be awesome additions as well.
For music just put on the soundtrack to True Blood or add some of your favorites to the play list like Jace Everett’s Bad Things or Bob Dylan’s Beyond Here Lies Nothin’.
Print out your HBO endorsed party invitations here and let’s get this party started!
Party Props for a Merlotte’s Theme – Sam’s bar is full of animal hunting trophies and it has a lodge feel. Light a fire if you have a fireplace and mount yourself a Buck and Fish Plaque. Neon beer signs would be a great touch and HBO even has a Merlotte’s neon sign. Don’t forget your Merlotte’s beer mugs. Serve up some AIDS burgers (courtesy of Lafayette) and french fries.

Fangtasia Party Props – The key here is RED. Cover bar stools and chairs with red fabric, hang some red and black drapes, and use red velvet tablecloths to cover most surfaces. Hang old looking oil portraits and red twinkle lights and put bottles of booze on bookshelves or behind the bar (ask guests to bring a bottle). Set out your Fangtasia shot glasses, empty or full of red jello shooters, and your bottles of True Blood beverage for your vamp guests. These vampire ice cubes are nice touch too. Serve up red velvet cake, bloody good finger foods, and black popcorn balls.
Lou Pine’s Part Props – Biker bar!! Put some old barn doors up along the wall, hang some Harley photos and neon beer signs, maybe even throw some motorcycle tires upright on the table or put Harley spare tire covers on your bar stools. And of course break out the Lou Pine’s glasses from HBO. Grill up some steaks and burgers for your guests and since werwolves LOVE vampire blood make sure to pass the “V” around.
